What a great reminder this is; the ability to edit or alter photos has always existed. The reasons for it may differ but that doesn’t make one reason better or worse than another.
I hope the princess is recovering well. May she find the time to improve her photoshop skills, although I doubt that will change the opinions of the conspiracy theorists ☺️

In all honesty, I don't understand all this drama over the photo - it is not like the vast majority of photos online are not edited in some way, in many cases, in more damaging (or even, dare I say) conspiratorial ways. But we lose our cool over a mom posting a perfect picture of mother's day that she probably edited herself (spoiler alert: she is no Photoshop pro...).
Are people truly surprised that we only see very curated slice of life of royals and super celebrities alike?
Maybe this was just a harmless distraction from the actual horrors going on today, and we needed that...
Another way of handling this is saying..so what ? In a world of a million issues to choose from, perhaps this isn’t something we need to really worry about. Perhaps Big Sugar industry forcing Indian women to have hysterectomies so they can work longer is a bigger issue? - see the NYTimes today.
